What does Mental Health Really Mean? 

Mental health is related to our emotions, progress and psychological thinking. It tends to affect our way of thinking, feeling, desire of living, happiness, how we handle stress and decision making.

It plays an important role in life from childhood to adultery, affecting physically as what’s a body with a disturb mind, it’s all in our head. A hyper active extrovert can likely to become introvert from mental disturbance. Mental issues can be of many reasons like:

 

 

  • Trauma:
    • Childhood incidents
    • Sudden death of a beloved one
    • Heart break 
  • Abuse:
    • Sexual Assault
    • Bullying
  • Discrimination due to ethnicity, religion, or others
    • Family history of mental problems
    • Sudden loss
  • Closure or lose in business
  • Losing Job
    • Not having a compatible relation with parents
  • Mostly in desi household
  • Society Pressure (common reason)
  • Old Mindset
  • Restriction
  • Marriage over love and happiness because ‘log kya kahega’ (what will people say)
  • Parents fight
    • other reasons
    • Mood Disorders

Types

A chatterbox hiding his/her weaknesses and scares under his/hersmile, talking and activities, you never know what’s inside a person unless we talk to them.

A workaholic just because of responsibilities and not choosing his/her desire career.

Silence keeper most likely an introvert hiding scares big as a volcano without utterly a single word.

An artist hiding something behind his/her artworks.

A perfect person for entire world but inside is full of darkness (mask bearer)

 

  • Anxiety Disorders

Your reaction to some stressful stuffs is normal unless it causes pain and overwhelming like:

 

  • Worrying and feeling unrealistic for no reason
  • Panic Attacks, feel like Heart Attacks
  • Overwhelmed about social interactions (Phobia)
  • Different kinds of phobias
  • Intensive fear of certain places
  • Selective mutism
  • Addiction
  • Eating Disorders
  • Others

Someone might be having anxiety attacks but due to society pressure they are ignored and many don’t even share or consult a doctor due to desi household thinks it don’t exist and many suicides occurs due to this.

Many suicides, inner happiness and peace are ignored every other day due to parents not being compatible and understanding. Normalize the fact that not everyone has good parents but something impossible in subcontinent because everyone thinks parents are the good creature, yes, they are but not for everyone.

The second significant factor is exam stress and a degree that says engineering or med, now that’s something disappointing that a simple board exam decides whether you are genius or not, not your intellectual thinking that’s how people thinks and children are pressurize every other day to be a 90 percent topper or you are a failure. Students’ mental health issues are not discussed or even considered as an issue.

After education now comes the job or career building, no concepts of startups or stocks or cryptocurrency with no particular reasons and you are required to do a job with good salary and save money not in stocks but in banks. If you are enough independent you can try this all but with parents who are not supportive and mostly, they are not, you can’t try, very disappointing but welcome to desi household your children mental health and choices are not important than someone’s opinions.

Now comes the looks and complexes which we have here that has led to mental problems to every other girl for being skinny, fat, black or having acne. Our film industry has a beauty standard to be tall, white, attractive and scarless.

White superiority exists way more than west because being white is first step to be beautiful and whitening injections treatments are high of demands here, No one normalize that subcontinent natives are brown and their skin color can’t be pale or fair but np one thinks this way.These were the highlighted issues many are not even discussed.
